I managed the construction and turn-up of two fiber optic regeneration sites with co-location facilities for Epik Communications in southwest Georgia. Supervised the construction of the ISP and DC power facilities utilizing two crews of 4 men each. Implemented Engineering Change Orders, scheduled equipment deliveries, maintained inventory status and updated as-built drawings as required. Managed the implementation of voice and data services for three remote Teng offices.

 

LATA (Los Alamos Technical Associates), Denver, CO (September 1998- August 1999)

Project Engineer
Conducted studies to develop data required for planning switching facilities. Prepared plans and schedules for acquisition and installation of equipment to meet Y2K long- term and current requirements for the City and County of Denver and the Denver International Airport. Conducted studies on current services, equipment capabilities, traffic data and estimated acquisition/installation costs. Analyzed data and forecasted subscriber demands and projected traffic to determine type, size and quantity of equipment required. Planned and scheduled equipment acquisition and installation. Major projects: DOTTS (Department of Treasury Telecommunications Systems) and ASP (Aggregated Switch Procurement).

Technical Support Engineer (February 1988- May 1990)
I was employed as a subject matter expert responsible for the third tier technical support engineering for the Intecom and VMX product lines. Primary functions included CPE product selection, vendor price negotiations and RFP technical compliance review. Conducted the design, operation and maintenance of the Technical Services Division’s communications laboratory. Designed and implemented demonstrations for various communications trade shows. Major projects: University of Denver, Regis University, and International Call Center to support the press for Pope John Paul’s visit to Denver.

South Central Bell Communications, New Orleans, LA (April 1986- February 1988)
Supervisor (I&M)

Assigned as a first level supervisor directly responsible for the installation, maintenance and operation of a number of high profile telecommunications systems. Supervised a crew of five permanent union techs and as many as 18 subcontractor personnel with responsibility for the installation and support of the core systems, distributed fiber optic cabinets; dial up, dedicated and special circuits; LAN support and design. Worked with government contracting officers in solving pressing issues surrounding the installation and was rewarded with the first contract acceptance check being released to SCBC, 6.6 million dollars. Major projects: NASA, National Space Technology Laboratories, NSTL, MS; NASA, Slidell Computer Complex, Slidell, LA; Tulane Medical Center and Hibernia National Bank, New Orleans, LA.
